This is an LDO (Low Dropout ) regulator with power cables.
The purpose is to take a DC voltage in and linearly regulate it to a lower voltage. It is designed to have a very low dropout voltage (less tha .1 volt in many cases). The Analog Devices LT1963 is used as the heart of the design.
Used for:
1) Regulating a variable battery voltage down to a safe level (eg. 9V or 12V)
2) Providing a safe output voltage with current limiting for bringing up new electronic builds
3) Current limiting a large battery to prevent problems
Specifications
Input Voltage - up to 17 volts
Output Voltage - Settable with trimmer resistor from less than 5V up to the input voltage (minus the dropout voltage)
Current Limit - 1.5 amps
Fused - in case of over voltage input or reverse polarity input
Note: Voltage is set to 12V upon delivery
